Yahoo Search Marketing. Since you went through my free search marketing guide you will get a $25 credit upon activation of your online business. The link will open a new window, so like in the last step you follow along with sign up process.
If you clicked on the link above you you should have landed on the Yahoo search marketing home page. Notice the link on the top right corner that says Get a $25 Credit, click on that link to get started with your ad campaigns.
This page gives you a quick overview of how Yahoo's search marketing is structured. I love Yahoo's interface because it's so user friendly, but I have been doing this for a while. Once you get your first ad going, your future campaigns will be second nature to set up. Lets go over Yahoo's steps.
Step 1 - Targeting your Customers
Yahoo gives you the ability to have your ads shown in a specific region of the states. A good example of this option is selling surf boards. If your business is selling surf boards then you would want to target the coasts and not Kansas where no one is surfing. For a search marketer selling anti-spyware downloads the market is anyone with a computer, so you really wouldn't have to set a specific region. Remember to think like a customer when choosing to use this option or not.
Step 2 - Choosing Keywords
When you choose your keywords keep in mind that they should be relevant to you ad and your products landing page. The more relevant the are, the better quality ranking you will get with Yahoo. Example - Selling a dating web site membership - Keywords/Phrase could be - "meet new people","online date" or "latino dating". When generating keywords use Googles Free Keyword Tool. Step 3 - Daily Spending Limit
This step is when you need to decided how much a day you are willing to spend on clicks. With clicks going for 5 cents you could probably afford a 5 or 10 dollar limit just to test the waters. Remember ROI, you need to find that perfect price so that you are getting clicks, but not paying more than your profits. Once you get comfortable you can start making greater returns for your investments. Stay Motivated and you will get it!
Step 4 -Creating Your Ad
This is the ad that your customers will see on Yahoo. The "Ad Copy" or text of the ad means so much, so you might have to try different variations of your original ad.
Step 5 - Activate Your Ad
This step actually makes your ad visible to Yahoo traffic, and is the start to your impressions and clicks.
After choosing your time zone and market find this button on the bottom of the page and click on it to proceed to the first step of Yahoo search marketing.
Choose the region you would like to target. Remember that depending on your product you might need to be specific. Then click on the Next or Keywords button.
To activate your account you need to have at least one keyword in you ad campaign. You can choose the keyword that you think is relevant to the product you might have chosen with AffiliateBot. You can choose up to 50 keywords now, but when you activate your account you can have thousands. Click on next when you are done.
Like I said before you can choose have daily spending limit of as low as 5 dollars to test the waters. Make sure you choose keywords that don't have minimum bids higher than 5 cents. You can pay more to get better position, but our goal is to find that perfect price that will have the best ROI. Start low then raise your bids a bit if you need to.
This step is asking you to write your ad. Make your title relevant to the keywords you are bidding on for this ad group. Make your description very persuasive, but not too cheesy. On the URL slot, copy and paste your link from AffiliateBot, so when you get clicks and sales you get credit for them. Remember to always test your links first. Copy and paste them in your browsers url search first and make sure they direct you to the correct product.
After your ad is written you will need to give Yahoo your personal info and create a user login and password. Your company name can be your name or the name of your business. Type in the security code on the bottom proceed to the next step.
With my web site's promotion you will get $25 in free clicks, but when you have used up that promotion you will need to add you own money for clicks. Yahoo accepts credit, debit and Pay Pal. Pay Pal is free to sign for and is very secure, so use this if you don't feel comfortable using you cards. PayPal.com Once you activate your account your ads will be up in minutes.
