Just like any new job, you have to learn the "lingo" or the terminology. I'm sure that if I was thrown into a hospital and was told to do brain surgery I wouldn't even know where to start. With that said, I'm pretty sure that if I told you to go to your ad campaigns and find out which keywords are converting the most and which have the best ROI, you would feel like I would doing brain surgery.

Search Marketing Terminology
Ad group - A group of one or more ads that share the same keywords. Different variations of an ad could be used in one ad group to see which performs the best.
Ad - A link on a search engine or web site that directs traffic towards a specific product or web site.
Adwords - A program ran by google that allows people to place ads on their search engine on a pay per click bases.
Affiliate - YOU! A person or business that agrees with a merchant to promote there products and earn omission from those sales.
Affiliate Network - A web site or company that acts as the middle man between the merchant and the affiliate. Affiliate networks manage and your sales. This is also that place you sign up to become a affiliate.
Affiliate Program - A program that has been made for a business or individuals to sale merchant's products and earn commission from those sales.
Campaign - A collection of different ad groups that are all relevant to each other.
Click Through Rate - Also known as CTR. The number of times an ad is viewed divided by the number of times the ad is clicked. impressions/clicks=CTR
Conversion - a sale! When a person clicks on your ad and meets the requirements for you to earn a commission. (Sale or Lead)
Conversion Rate - The number of times a sale is made, divided by the number of clicks, divided by 100. Helps keeps track of profitable keywords.
Cost Per Click - The price you or your business pays yahoo/google for the click. The idea is to keep this number low so that your profits are more than your CPC.
Display URL - The url that is shown on your ad. It lets traffic know where the link will take them. Note that the display url can be whatever you like, as long as the destination URL is correctly linked to the desired page. Ex. of display URL www.onlineworkopportunity.com
Earnings Per Click - The amount of profit after the cost for clicks.
Hit or Click - When a person uses your ad to get to your landing page.
Keyword - The word or words a person searches on a search engine.
Landing Page - The web site's page that your ad sends traffic to.
Pay Per Click - PPC is the system that search engines use to charge affiliates or businesses for having there ads up. When your ad gets clicked the business or affiliate pays the amount he or she bided on.
Pay per Action - A type of program that pays affiliates for a certain action taking by the customer. Ex. Taking a survey
Pay Per Lead - A type of program that pays affiliates for leads generated. Ex. Submit an application for a cash advance
Return on Investment - ROI is the amount of profit made after the initial investment is paid back.
Quality - How relevant your ad is to your landing page, keywords, and competition
